Dr. Mary Kay Klein
Dr. Klein was raised in Tucson and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona in 1979. She then traveled to Colorado State University to attend veterinary school and graduated with honors in 1983. After returning home to Arizona for 2 years and working at the University of Arizona Animal Cancer Therapy Study, Dr. Klein returned to Colorado State University for a three-year oncology residency and became board-certified in medical oncology in 1990. She became board-certified in radiation oncology in 1996. Dr. Klein continues her research and interests as a clinical lecturer at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. Author of numerous articles and textbook chapters, Dr. Klein served as president of the Veterinary Cancer Society in 2000 and again in 2001.


Dr. Suzanne Shelly Waltman
Dr. Waltman is a native of Washington state. She received her bachelor's degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla. She graduated from veterinary school at the University of California-Davis in 2001. After a small animal internship at Colorado State University, she returned to UC Davis to complete a residency in medical oncology. She became board-certified in medical oncology with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2005.


Dr. Kim Hillers
Dr. Kim Hillers graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio arts in 1997. She postponed veterinary school for one year to live in Seoul, Korea. She returned to the University of Minnesota for veterinary school and received her DVM in 2002. She completed a one-year internship at a small animal private practice in Mesa, AZ and a three-year combined residency in oncology and masters program at the Animal Cancer Center of Colorado State University. Dr. Hillers became board-certified in medical oncology in 2006.


Dr. Lynda Beaver
Dr. Lynda Beaver is a native of Toronto, Canada and received her DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1989. After working as a general practitioner for a number of years, she decided to specialize in the field of veterinary oncology, and spent 4 years as an oncology technician at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Illinois, and then an oncology internship at Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Beaver started a three year medical oncology residency at Arizona Veterinary Specialists in July, 2005.


Dr. Jennifer Arthur
Dr. Jennifer Arthur received her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1995 and her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1999. In 2004, she graduated with high honors from Ross University where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She spent her clinical year at Texas A&M and also completed a short volunteer internship at Alaska Sea Life Center. She then headed to Kansas State University for an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Arthur completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at North Carolina State University and since obtaining board certification in 2007, she has been working in a private specialty practice in Atlanta. Her professional interests include palliative radiation and providing continuing education to both the veterinary profession and the general public about the uses and benefits of radiation therapy.
