Every Tuesday we open at 6 a.m. to accommodate for early morning appointments. Please call (480) 635-1110 extension 3 for an appointment at our Gilbert office or (623) 298-5354 extension 4 for an appointment at our Glendale office. New patient consultations generally take 30 minutes and are scheduled at various times throughout the day to accommodate the daily surgical schedule. Please arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment in order to fill out our new patient information forms. Click here to fill out your client information form.
The surgical staff provides 24-hour coverage for emergency consultations or questions regarding surgical patients. Established clients may leave a message regarding the problem and a contact number when prompted by the phone menu, and the surgeon on call will be paged. After receiving the page, the surgeon on call will contact you as soon as possible. For new problems that occur after hours, please first contact your primary care veterinarian or the Emergency Animal Clinic at (480) 497- 0222. The Emergency Animal Clinic or your primary care veterinarian may page us if an emergency surgical consultation is indicated.

What to expect during the consultation:
After checking in at the front desk, a veterinary technician will obtain information about your pet to assist our surgeon. The technician will also obtain your pet’s temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate. The surgeon will then review information sent by your regular veterinarian, examine your pet, and provide you with information about your pet’s condition and treatment options. Our surgeons will answer any questions regarding your pet’s medical condition and treatment plans and will provide a written cost estimate prior to surgery.
If surgical treatment is indicated, surgery may sometimes be performed the same day as the appointment. Please remove your pet’s food bowl and do not offer any additional food after midnight in case surgery is performed the day of the appointment. It is okay to have water available to your pet until morning, but please remove the water bowl by 7:00 a.m. in the morning.
Some surgeries may need to be scheduled on a different day than the initial consultation, depending on the nature of the surgical procedure and the surgical schedule. We will work diligently with you to try to schedule your pet’s procedure so that it is as convenient for you as possible.
What should I bring to the consultation?
Please bring radiographs, ultrasound images, and copies of lab test results with you to your appointment. Be sure to bring any medication that your pet is taking. If available, bring copies of your pet’s pertinent medical records.
Payment information:

We offer many flexible options for payment. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards. Due to the significant investment in time and materials, we require a deposit of 60% of the surgical estimate at the time your pet is admitted for surgery. Payment in full is required at the time of hospital discharge.
We realize that many surgical procedures become necessary due to emergencies or unforeseen events. In order to assist with these unplanned financial expenditures, convenient financing is available in many cases through CareCredit. CareCredit is an independent financing company that offers a revolving credit line for veterinary and human healthcare expenditures, and they offer a variety of payment options. For more information about CareCredit financing, please visit their website.
Charges for recheck examinations, bandage changes, and radiographs are not included in the initial surgical fee estimate. Individual patients often require different amounts of follow-up care or vary in the frequency of necessary bandage changes, and some clients who live a great distance from our office choose to have follow-up care performed at their primary care veterinarian’s office. Charges for recommended follow-up procedures, therefore, are difficult to predict in advance and are quoted as necessary for each individual patient.
